Hi,

Well bluetooth is notoriously bad for streaming data. I spent alot of time some years ago working on a bluetooth based servo board, but ultimately switched to XBee modules instead, as I couldn't get around the bluetooth problems. Bluetooth is ok for high level commands such as forwards, backwards, left / right etc, but these kind of commands don't need to be streamed as fast or as regular as servo data. Basically with bluetooth you get packet fragmentation and jitter that will ruin your stream. The good thing is that the bluetooth module your suing is XBee pin compatible, so it shouldn't be too hard to switch to an XBee in point to point mode.

Hi Matt,

noted and thanks for your info. In this case I think the only way is to build in IK algorithm on board just can make it mobile?
By the way, what do you mean Xbee point to point mode?

The XBee modules can operate in several modes, but you can configure them to work in pairs (point to point). this gives the best results for streaming data.

Nice work. What was the issue with previous servos?

Femur Tibia servo gear sheared when I adjust the leg manually!
Suspect low gear material quality.
