unfortunately these "simulations" would require the body to shift in order to get any real motion.
Wave gait is the best for this as the shift motion only needs to move left to right once in one gait sequence. shifting from (RR-RF then LR-LF)

Ripple would require two shifts per side shifting from (LR then RF then LF then RR)

the most effective gait is shifting from (LR-LF then RR-RF) in a 24 step wave.
with 24 steps there would be more time involved for the body to shift.
the more GaitSteps you have the better and smoother the shifting movements are.

im using a bytetable that gets pulled up when ever a leg is lifted, allowing the body to shift away from the lifted leg. im still working on this as the are a few problems i have encountered.

Some little bird told me you wanted to see it walking......
do ya....do ya?

I have managed to get it walking using the 28 step wave.
the other gaits seem to slip about more. i may start studying the gaits again to see what can be done. im still working on body shifting so that may be the key.

i will have to make some feet up for this but here is a little idea of what it may look like.
