I had been visualizing myself doing some sort of a spider robot since my first day in the faculty of engineering, but i really don't remember the "roots" of that thought!

When it was time for selecting my graduation project, I saw A LOT of quadrupeds and hexapods, until I saw Matt's hexapod V4b and it was my big inspiration by the way it looks and more importantly the way it moves. And so my hexapod was born :)

While I was searching that time, I found this video too, see the hexapod at 1:17, you may find it interesting too.

Better not do physical combat - I have visions of Matt's hex CNCing a "Z" on someone else's bot?

Autonomous Robot Wars...

None of these radio controlled hybrids.

A true robot that has a kill mission. What fun...

What is it they say about the Terminator. "He Just Will Not Stop"

Making it proper legs, and not putting legged against tracked or wheeled would be a good start.

Oh I agree, there should be no remotes and definitely no wheels, not even wegs!

Well I would be up for some kind of meet, if there was enough interest, however, if people wish to see iC, CNC and a bunch of my other hexapods, then I would have to do this more local to me (South, Hampshire), as its too much gear to heave around.

Of course I have no problem just bringing a couple of hex's along to A.N.Other meet, possibly the one in November?

you get the feeling that somewhere, someone is REALLY proud of his creation, and everyone else round him will pat him on the back with a hearty "well done old chap" but its gotta be said, that was pretty crap! haha!

Its an expensive game this robotics lark...

If you were a young teen in the 80's and were into Technical Lego and computers, you may remember THIS! Definitely a bit of my inspiration :)
