This is a great lecture.Thanks for adding the link.But Genetic evolution is a useful enough concept that the ideas are even employed in engineering. There are aerodynamic designs for aircraft that have been created via. algorithms based upon genetic evolution with random mutations and recombinations and these have generated designs of a higher quality than any engineer or group of them was able to create.
