Apod inspired hexapod

Postby eriklely » Thu Feb 09, 2012 2:16 pm

I just wanted to give an update on my experimenting with different body and legdesigns.

It has become a hybrid i think, micromagic and lynxmotion parts and as Zenta said, it is a functional robot. It's a copy of the Apod of Zenta with a little twist. Matt, this is why I wanted to get the hexengine running so bad. I thought, well it has exactly this functionality, including pan, twist, tilt, gripper etc. But anyway, this is where my project is right now. Tailsection should be coming in end this week, just a whole lot of wiring left. The footcontactsensors have to be connected and i still have to find a good placement for the accelerometer.

Well mostly movies speak a thousand words so some first movies:

As you can see I used some of the hexapod parts i bit creative (femurs in the gripper). Matt, is it possible to order parts of the hexapod kit, i had to cut and drill some. I mean femur and 'shoulder'-parts.

Looks great! :)

The only separate parts I have for the kits are spares that are not anodized.

Tnx, wel you know that 99% of the credit go to Xan and Zenta. And they looked at your hexengine as well, i'm sure of it.

And anodize or not, no problem. Like i said i had to cut 2 'shoulders' and used 2 femurs in this one....bit impulsively but worked out really good. But i would still like to be able to rebuild de micromagic hexapod. So would be nice!
