Noob Question about Hexengine

Postby gonzokawasaki » Fri Oct 21, 2011 7:02 pm

OK

sorry this may be a noob question but can someone answer the following.

P.brain is the microcontroller for the hexapod and the hexengine is the firmware that drives the microcontroller.

The firmware is proprietory software running on the p.brain?

but you can also buy the p.brain without the firmware and presumably develop your own firmware?? (eezypeezy right!! :)

Is that right?

Hi,

Yes the p.Brainµ24 module is the hardware, the p.Brain-µ24-HexEngine is the hardware with a special bootloader that allows you to load the HexEngine control software. However, if you want to develop your own code, you would want the p.Brain-µ24 only, because if you try to programme the HexEngine version you will erase the boot loader and hence loose your HexEngine.
