great work.

be really good to see this walking now. well obviously not in till the others have been printed.
the print kinda leaves a nice pattern on the plastic. reminds me of H.R.Gigers work.

If you look at the comments on the video I have posted at youtube, you can see that Intel is interested in my hexapod. They really like that I have used the Atom processor in an embedded application. They would really like to have a hexapod to bring to conferences as a cool demonstration of their processor. Over the last few weeks I have been meeting up with them and we came to an agreement to build two hexapods. One will be kept permanently at Intel, while I get to keep the other one, but they are allowed to borrow it from time to time incase they have two demos at the same time. They will also give me another Fit-PC2 for my personal use. Needless to say, I am very satisfied :)

You can all see a familiar photograph on the Intel website towards the bottom:

Well I was a bit busy to take pictures while adding the new legs since I had to go to Intel yesterday to give a demo, but someone there managed to grab a video of my hexapod in action with their phone:

Quick vid of new legs and better 3D balance gestures using the spring model. Still controlling it with sixaxis controller:

Well I got a nice little shipment from Intel the other day:

36 RX-28's w/36 hinge brackets, 6 DX-117's, and 3-Fit-PC2's. Enough to build two build two rather powerful hexapods, and another tiny computer for fun. They didn't even request a signature at time of delivery, so it was sitting on my front porch for half a day

I didn't pay for the motors, Intel did ;)

As for the head video, I still need to get that running, haven't had much time to work on that. Iv'e been working on terrain adaptation based on vision, but maybe I can get it together this weekend.
