I adjusted the LZR to 30. LZR automatically made the MFS 30. The original value for both MFS and LZR was 20. The hexapod still goes into fail safe mode when in the tripod gait with LZR set to 30.

ok, reduce the LZR to 25, also what is your PWM setting?

25 was still too large of a value but I got it working by setting LZR to 23. My PWM is 1 and min setting is 800 uS and the max is 2200 uS.

PWM=1 is a good all round setting, however, you can push the servos a little further, try PWM=2, this will give them more range, you may then find you can increase the LZR slightly.

I think I will keep LZR at 1 to keep the servos safe. I want to pitch the bot forward and backward more. Is that MXR?

I want to use a 2.4ghz transmitter instead of the ps2 remote to control the pod. I heard that the hexengine needs some kind of pwm converter to interpert the 2.4ghz trasnmitter's signals. Would a ppm to pwm converter work?

This is what it looks like right now when it walks:
